George Weasley
Co-Founder — Operations & R&D
"Fred has the ideas. I make sure the ideas don't burn the shop down. It's a full-time job."
Role
George is the operational backbone of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. He runs R&D, manages supply chain and logistics, handles Ministry compliance, and serves as the calm counterweight to Fred's relentless creative energy. If Fred is the spark, George is the steady hand that turns sparks into sustainable fire.
Strengths
- Operations. George built our shipping network, inventory systems, and supplier relationships from scratch. The fact that a four-person joke shop runs like a well-oiled machine is entirely his doing.
- Safety. Every product goes through George's testing pipeline before it touches a customer's hands. He takes safety seriously — not because he's boring (he invented half these pranks), but because getting someone hurt would be the opposite of funny.
- R&D. George is the one in the lab at midnight, tweaking charm formulas, measuring stardust ratios, and documenting results. The elderflower-stardust balance in Moonbeam Meltdrops? Four months of George's meticulous testing.
Working With George
- He's methodical. Bring data, not just enthusiasm. "I think it's ready" doesn't work. "Here are the test results from 18 volunteers" does.
- He worries. This is a feature, not a bug. His worrying has prevented at least a dozen Ministry violations and one potential Azkaban visit.
- He's quietly funny. George's humour is drier than Fred's — less showman, more deadpan. His incident report titles are legendary. ("Incident #47: Portable Swamp Manifests in George's Tea.")
- Best time to pitch George on something risky: after a successful product launch, when he's in a good mood and holding a Butterbeer.
Favourite Quote
"I'm not saying we can't do it. I'm saying we should do it in a way that doesn't require a formal apology to the Ministry. Again."
