Fred Weasley
Co-Founder — Product & Marketing
"Every great product starts with someone saying 'what if?' and everyone else saying 'please don't.' I'm the 'what if' guy."
Role
Fred is the creative engine of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. He generates product ideas, writes marketing copy, runs in-store demos, and is personally responsible for at least 60% of the energy in any room he enters. His title is "Co-Founder" but his actual job is "the reason people walk in the door."
Strengths
- Ideas. Fred generates more product concepts in a week than most companies produce in a year. Not all of them are good (see: the Exploding Quiche incident). But enough of them are brilliant that the hit rate more than justifies the chaos.
- Launches. Nobody launches a product like Fred. The in-store events, the Daily Prophet teaser campaigns, the moment of reveal — he treats every launch like opening night at a theatre. And it works.
- Showmanship. Fred on the shop floor is our single greatest sales asset. He demos products with the energy of a carnival barker and the timing of a professional comedian. Customers buy things they didn't know existed five minutes ago.
Working With Fred
- He responds best to "yes, and..." energy. Shoot down an idea too fast and he'll do it anyway, just without telling you.
- If you need him to slow down, get George or Verity. They're the only two people who can reliably get Fred to pause and think.
- He's surprisingly good at taking feedback on creative work — IF you frame it as making the idea better, not killing it.
- Don't schedule him for anything before 9am. He's not a morning person. He's a "burst through the door at 9:47 with three new ideas" person.
